Description
Savor a simple delight: Easy apple crisp. Crisp apples, cinnamon spice, oats, and butter blend into a comforting dessert. Quick prep, warm aromas, and sweet satisfaction ignite the appetite.
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350F degrees. Butter an 8×8 baking dish, or spray with non-stick cooking spray. Then set aside.
- In mixing bowl, add chopped apples, 3/4 teaspoon of the cinnamon, granulated sugar & lemon juice. Stir to combine, then transfer to prepared baking dish.
- In a separate mixing bowl, add topping ingredients (oats, brown sugar, flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, salt & diced cold butter). Use a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the oat mixture, using a slight downward twisting motion, until mixture resembled pea-sized crumbs. Alternatively, you can use two forks or even your hands to cut butter in to the mixture.
- Spread topping over apples in baking dish, & gently pat to even it out. Bake 40 to 50 mins, until golden brown & bubbly.
- Serve warm & enjoy!
TIPS
- The amount of chopped apples would be about 6 to 7 cups.
- Note that all ovens bake differently, so yours may take a little less or little more time to bake.
Make-Ahead Directions:
- Bake as directed. After crisp cools, cover & refrigerate, until the next day. When you are ready to re-heat, set it out at room temp for 20 mins or so, then bake at 350°F for about 30 mins, or, until hot throughout.

- Light brown sugar - 1 cup
- Old fashioned oats - 3/4 cup
- All-purpose flour - 3/4 cup
- Cold unsalted butter - 1/2 cup (diced into small cubes)
- Pinch of kosher salt
