Instructions
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, mix water, 2 ½ tablespoons sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat. Stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
- Preheat oil in a deep fryer or deep pot to 375°F (190°C) for frying.
- Place the dough into a sturdy pastry bag equipped with a medium star tip. Pipe a few 5- to 6-inch strips of dough into the hot oil, working in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden, then use a spider or slotted spoon to transfer churros to paper towels for draining.
- Mix 1/2 cup of sugar with cinnamon. Roll the drained churros in the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
